RAN Mobile: The Master Class - Core System Overhaul

We want to give the community a clear summary of what the upcoming Core System Overhaul means for RAN Mobile: The Master Class.

This is a major rebuild of the systems underneath the game. The goal is to address long-standing issues at their source instead of continuing to rely on repeated workarounds and temporary fixes.

The direction is to build a cleaner and more reliable foundation while keeping the future of RAN Mobile: The Master Class in mind.

What This Overhaul Means

What We Are Fixing

This overhaul is intended to address several long-standing problems and limitations, including:

  • Exploits and abuse
  • Major server and client performance issues
  • Map and world limitations
  • Unnecessary restrictions in systems such as Trade, Vending and Locker
  • Item structure and Random Value handling
  • Item stacking
  • Monster drops and rates
  • Better support for future maps, systems and content

Many of these issues may appear unrelated on the surface, but they are often connected to limitations in the current core structure.

The goal is to remove recurring pain points at their source instead of continuing the same cycle of temporary fixes.

What We Are Fixing

This Is Not a Full Wipe

We want to give existing players clear assurance regarding their progression.

The overhaul is not intended to send everyone back to a new or empty account. Existing player progress will remain an important part of the transition.

This includes:

  • All existing characters
  • Character name
  • Character level
  • EXP progression
  • Character class
  • GOLD
  • Donation Points
  • Stat Point progression
  • Skill Point progression
  • Weapon and equipment upgrade progress
  • Other compatible account and character progress

Players who have spent years leveling, building their characters and improving their equipment should continue to have a meaningful advantage after migration.

Your progress today still matters.

What You Keep

What About Items and Skills?

Most existing progress and many items are intended to carry forward.

The main area that requires special handling is the item structure itself, especially some items with Random Values.

Because the rebuilt system will not use exactly the same internal item structure, some items may need to be converted or adjusted rather than copied at a perfect 1:1 value.

This does not mean that all items will disappear.

Our goal is to preserve as much value and progression as reasonably possible while avoiding the same limitations that currently affect the item system.

Players with highly upgraded or well-developed equipment should still retain the value and advantage of that progression.

Existing learned skills will also be recognized during migration.

Applicable learned skills are planned to be converted into Spiritual Spheres, which can then be exchanged for the skill scrolls of the player's choice under the rebuilt system.

A more detailed migration guide will be released separately once the migration system is ready.

Where the Biggest Changes Are

How the Transition Will Work

The current live game will continue operating while development of the overhaul continues.

Players can continue playing and progressing as usual.

Once the migration system becomes available, eligible account and character data will be migrated through the web-based process.

When the rebuilt version is ready, players will receive the update and log in again as usual, similar to a major patch.

We are not announcing an exact release date at this time.

We would rather continue development properly and provide a schedule when we are confident enough to stand behind it than give the community another date that may need to change.

How the Transition Works

Common Questions

We know this announcement naturally raises several questions.

Common Questions

Why now, after three years?

The problems were not discovered today.

For years, the approach was to fix, improve and extend the existing system while keeping the live game operating.

What has changed is what is technically realistic today. Better tools, infrastructure, development workflows and technology now make a deeper rebuild more achievable.

What will happen to the live game?

The live game continues while the overhaul is being developed.

Players can continue playing and progressing normally.

Was the focus only on content over the years?

Content is the most visible part of a live game, but it was never the only work happening.

The live game also required ongoing server work, exploit mitigation, security changes, performance work, compatibility fixes and backend maintenance while continuing to provide updates for the community.

Why only announce this now?

We have already been working on the overhaul behind the scenes.

We did not want to announce a major rebuild while it was still only an idea or an uncertain direction.

We waited until there was actual progress and a direction we were confident enough to publicly stand behind.

When will the lag be fixed?

If this could be solved by one simple patch, it would have been done already.

Some remaining performance problems are tied to deeper limitations in the current structure.

The overhaul is intended to address those root causes rather than continue repeating short-term fixes.

Common Questions - Answers

Why Now?

The current version has supported The Master Class for several years, but many technical limitations have become increasingly difficult to maintain and work around.

The game has also gone through different technical periods over the years, including connectivity problems, rubber banding, exploits, duplication issues, server security changes and repeated optimization work.

At the same time, development technology has continued to advance.

The same reason more ambitious Ran Mobile projects are becoming possible today is also one of the reasons a deeper rebuild of The Master Class is more achievable now.

This does not mean nothing was done in the past.

It means we have reached the point where continuing the same approach is no longer the best path forward.

Why Now

Moving Forward

We understand that one of the biggest concerns is whether the rebuilt version will still feel like RAN Mobile: The Master Class.

The honest answer is that it will not be 100% identical.

Some systems will behave differently because the purpose of this overhaul is to remove limitations that have been affecting the game for years. If we forced everything to remain exactly the same, we would also be carrying many of those same problems into the rebuilt version.

At the same time, our direction is still based on the progression and gameplay experience that The Master Class has built over the years.

This includes how we approach leveling, character progression, available skills, class development and the overall pace of the game.

We know some players are worried that leveling may suddenly become much easier and that weeks or months of progress made today could lose its value.

That is not what we want.

Your current level, EXP and character progression are intended to carry forward, and the progression you continue making on the live server will still matter during migration.

We are not rebuilding the game so that everyone can simply skip the progression that existing players worked for.

There may still be adjustments to pacing, systems and balance as part of the new structure, but we will try to keep the experience as close as reasonably possible to the version of The Master Class that the community has known and supported.

The same applies to items.

Most existing progress is intended to carry forward, while some items and Random Values may require conversion because the rebuilt item structure will be different.

This does not mean all items will disappear, and it does not mean existing geared players will lose the advantage they have built.

Our goal is to preserve the value of existing progression while giving the game a stronger foundation moving forward.

So for players wondering whether they should stop playing and simply wait for migration, our direction remains the same:

Your progress today still matters.

We know there will be mixed emotions because some players genuinely love how the current version plays today.

Some changes will naturally come with a rebuild of this scale, and we do not want to promise a perfect 1:1 recreation when we know that may not be realistic.

What we can promise is the direction.

We want the rebuilt version to remain recognizable as RAN Mobile: The Master Class while finally giving us the opportunity to fix systems that have continued to hurt both the community and development.

This is not about replacing the game people supported for years.

It is about carrying that game forward into a stronger foundation, even if some parts of the journey have to change along the way.

More detailed information regarding migration, items and progression will be released separately once those systems are finalized.
